MCM Partners with Muntinlupa City to Provide Free Breast Cancer Screening

Medical Center Muntinlupa (MCM) is proud to announce its collaboration with Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon and the Gender And Development Office (GAD), in launching a groundbreaking initiative aimed at providing free breast cancer screening to the women of Muntinlupa.

Mayor Biazon signed the agreement alongside Dr. Ning Singh, Chairman of the Board of Medical Center Muntinlupa.

The agreement sets the stage for an innovative partnership that underscores MCM's commitment to promoting women's health within the local community through the prevention and early detection of breast cancer.

Also present during the signing were Mr. Reggie Salonga, Acting Head of the Muntinlupa GAD Office, and Dr. Uriel Halum, MCM’s former President and CEO now Senior Management Consultant.

Starting from June 1, 2023, eligible women in Muntinlupa will have access to free breast ultrasound and mammogram services.

To take advantage of these services, individuals are required to undergo a check-up at either the local health center or the Sentrong Aruga ng Kababaihan (Women's Care Center) at Ospital Ng Muntinlupa (OsMun).

Subsequently, they may proceed to the Kalingang Munti Action Center (KMAC) for an official referral to Medical Center Muntinlupa and fulfill any additional requirements, if necessary.

Mayor Biazon expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "This partnership with the private sector reflects our unwavering commitment to delivering essential services to the people. By joining forces with Medical Center Muntinlupa, we aim to prioritize the health and well-being of our residents."

The initiative aligns with the City Mayor's 7K Agenda for Muntinlupa, which places a strong emphasis on Health, alongside Knowledge, Justice, Livelihood, Development, Environment, and Peace/Order.

By providing accessible breast cancer screening services, Medical Center Muntinlupa contributes to a healthier and more empowered community. “By ensuring better care for the women in our community, we are potentially saving lives of mothers, wives, and sisters, in our community. MCM is committed to fighting breast cancer on the ground; every family deserves to have their loved ones protected through preventive measures,” noted Dr. Singh.

This landmark program underscores the pivotal role that public-private partnerships play in addressing pressing health concerns. Medical Center Muntinlupa remains dedicated to collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance the quality of healthcare services and make a positive impact on the lives of the people it serves.
